One line to the fretting end.
Two lines because it feels right to mend.
Three lines to make my skin tough.
Four lines because three is never enough.
Five lines to pour the rest out.
Small bites around them so the red will sprout.
I set my friend down, and watch the breathing rise and fall from my chest.
